Roger Gillespie has joined YourHamiltonBiz.com, a new Torstar-owned Star Media Group business news site, as its managing editor.
Roger Gillespie has joined YourHamiltonBiz.com, a new Torstar-owned Star Media Group business news site, as its managing editor.
Gillespie comes from CBC Hamilton, where he was the founding executive producer of CBC’s first digital-only venture that launched in May, 2012. CBC Hamilton has posted Gillespie’s former job on its job board.
[node:ad]Prior to CBC Hamilton, Gillespie spent more than 20 years at The Hamilton Spectator, followed by five years at the Toronto Star.
YourHamiltonBiz.com is the second business news website that Torstar will launch. YourMississaugaBiz.com launched earlier this fall and is a subscription-based service. The Hamilton site will be up and running in January, Gillespie said.
“We expect to have a team of six reporters producing daily content around the city. In addition, there will be a desk editor, a managing editor and an editor,” Gillespie told J-Source of his new publication. “We plan to cover big and small business, real estate, city hall, and both the public and private sector.”
