FRIENDS (formerly FRIENDS of Canadian Broadcasting) has opened applications for the annual Dalton Camp Award, a $10,000 prize for the best essay on the link between media and democracy and a $2,500 student prize.
Submissions, which must be in English and up to 2,000 in length, are judged anonymously by a selection committee. This year’s jury includes Hannah Sung, Jane Hilderman, Kathy English, Danielle Paradis and Temur Durrani.
2021 Dalton Camp Award winner Christopher Cheung’s essay Blind Spots was published by media partner Toronto Star.
