Union: Globe proposes reporters write advertorial copy
The Globe and Mail wants its management to have the right to assign editorial employees to write and edit advertorial copy as part of their regular duties, the union said in a bargaining update.

The Globe and Mail wants its management to have the right to assign editorial employees to write and edit advertorial copy as part of their regular duties, according to this union bulletin.
The following is the opening proposals from both management and the union's side. Bargaining resumes on May 20.
Both sides have said they will not talk about the proposals.

I guess it comes down to whether the Globe writers want to keep their jobs or not. The media landscape is changing drastically and reporters have to wear more than one hat.

This is long overdue. Globe journalists need to see themselves as staff writers who are capable of juggling various tasks as community newspaper reporters have done for decades.
