Patricia Graham is exiting the editor's desk at The Vancouver Sun, a spot she's had for eight years, to become vice-president of digital at the Pacific Newspaper Group, a division of Postmedia which publishes The Sun.

The position is newly-created. Under Graham, The Sun was the most successful website among the Postmedia metro newsrooms.

As Graham puts it in a Vancouver Sun article:

The Vancouver Sun has had great success serving its customers in the digital realm. We've been aggressive in quickly delivering breaking news, engaging the community in creating content and staying nimble and responsive. These characteristics – engagement, responsiveness, flexibility, commitment to being the first and the best – need to permeate all aspects of our business. This is a golden age of information. As communicators, we are in a time of unrivalled opportunity, and it's my intention to make the best of it so that we serve our millions of readers and our advertisers in all the unique ways the digital universe offers.
