COPA nominees announced

The second and final set of finalists in the 2011 Canadian Online Publishing Awards has been announced. The leaders in this round include Cyberpresse (seven nominations), Edmonton Journal and Toronto Star (six nominations each) in the newspaper division, while Fashion and Truck News (three nominations each) lead the magazine categories. Online-only title Toronto Standard takes four nominations in this round.

In the first round announced earlier this week, CBCNews.ca led with six nominations. Sparksheet and The Globe and Mail had five each.

J-Source is also nominated for its three-part series on the coverage of the Russell Williams trial: Has coverage of Col. Williams gone too far? Or not far enough?; One reporter's trial; Tech on trial.

Winners will be announced Oct. 24 at the Gladstone Hotel in Toronto. For a full list of the nominees, visit Masthead's website.
