Maisonneuve magazine is celebrating 10 years of publication with a special issue that will be launched in Toronto on April 10.

An Anglophone esoteric general-interest magazine that goes by a French name and is based in Montreal: Sound like a publication that might be difficult to sell? Not for Maisonneuve. Since its inception, the quarterly magazine has garnered national attention, racked up some of the most prestigious awards in the country and consistently produced thought-provoking journalism

And it has been doing so for ten years.

The magazine has put together a special 10-year anniversary issue featuring stories about the science and culture of music (as well as one about Montreal mega-popular band Arcade Fire losing a Battle of the Bands years ago), about what really happened at Occupy Toronto, and nun pornography. (Yes, you read that correctly.)

The issue will be launched in Toronto at The Ossington on April 10—as well as at Eastern Bloc in Montreal on May 3 —where $5 at the door will get you your own copy of the anniversary edition as well as the chance to schmooze with Maisonneuve editor Drew Nelles, contributors and other general-interest esoteric magazine lovers.
