Multimedia Nova, the parent company, of the Town Crier newspapers, Toronto Today and Vaughan Today, has decided to suspend publication indefinitely for its newspapers.
“Unfortunately, due to financial problems, including the non-payment of a multi-million dollar grant from the Government of Italy to support our now defunct Italian language daily Corriere Canadese, our parent company Multimedia Nova has been placed into receivership,” said Gordon Cameron, managing editor of the Town Crier Newspapers and Toronto Today in a statement.
All the staff have been given lay-off notices, Multimedia Nova said in a press release.
