Western University announces 2012-2013 CanWest journalism fellow
Ira Basen has been named the 2012-2013 CanWest journalism fellow by Western University.
Basen, who has had a distinguished radio career — mostly with CBC Radio— and who is also a contributing editor to J-Source, will take up his fellowship in the upcoming fall term. He will be teaching a graduate course on the future of journalism in the digital age while focusing on research pertaining to “brand journalism,” the future of local news and the future of news in social media.
