Veteran newspaper editor Neil Reynolds died Sunday. Tributes flowed in from newspapers across the country where Reynolds has worked over his long career.

Ray Guy died suddenly on Tuesday, aged 74, from cancer. He wrote about life and politics in Newfoundland and Labrador, won a National Newspaper Award, a Leacock Award, membership in the Canadian News Hall of Fame, and an honorary degree from Memorial University.  The honours marked not just the role of his biting St. John's Evening Telegram newspaper columns of the 1960s and early 70s in bringing down the autocratic regime of Premier Joey Smallwood , but also his part in defining Newfoundland culture as we know it today, writes Susan Newhook.

Peter Worthington, co-founder of the Toronto Sun and a four-time National Newspaper Award winner, died Monday. Worthington wrote in his obituary that he realized “for journalists, reconnaissance can be valuable, and that it’s better to be lucky than good.” J-Source takes a look at the man behind the legend, as he describes himself in his own words.

Russo has been at the helm of the bureau since 2003 and he was awarded the Charles Lynch Award for lifetime achievement as a Parliamentary journalist in 2010.
