The Canadian Journalism Foundation is now accepting submissions for a number of awards.
[node:ad]The CJF supports and recognizes excellence in journalism through its awards programs and will honour the winners at the 15th Annual Awards Gala on June 7, 2012. Whether aspiring or experienced, they welcome submissions and nominations for the following:
- The Tom Hanson Photojournalism Award offers a six-week paid internship at The Canadian Press to a photojournalist in the early stages of their career. The annual internship is designed to give a photographer trying to break into the business a chance to perform on the national stage. Deadline is January 8, 2012.
- The annual Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes a substantial contribution by a Canadian journalist to the profession. The recipient will have demonstrated, throughout his/her career, a commitment to the highest journalistic standards and ideals. His/her work and contribution to the field and society should serve as a model that inspires excellence in others. Deadline is January 30, 2012.
- The annual Excellence in Journalism Award honours an organization that embodies exemplary journalistic standards and practices.Deadline is March 1, 2012. It is one of the major journalistic awards of the year and the only national award given to a journalistic organization for overall extraordinary performance.
- The annual Greg Clark Award is designed to offer working journalists, early in their career, a professional development opportunity which will allow them to gain insight, strategic information and meet key decision-makers in a sector or issue they regularly cover. Deadline is March 16, 2012.
