Jack Webster Foundation names 2013 fellows
The Jack Webster Foundation announced more than $14,000 in funding for its 2013 fellowships. The foundation offers B.C.-based journalist access to professional development opportunities.
The fellowships were awarded to Charelle Evelyn, reporter at the Prince George Citizen, Claudia Lau, reporter at Fairchild TV, Elaine O'Connor, reporter at The Province and Kelly Sinoski, reporter at the Vancouver Sun.
[node:ad]The recipients will attend the Poynter Institute in Florida and take courses in Backpack and Mobile Video reporting, Secrets of Great Enterprise Reporting and Investigating Local Government on a Shoestring Budget.
Deadline for entries to the 2014 Jack Webster fellowships is February 24, 2014. The foundation is also accepting submissions for the 2013 Jack Webster Awards until June 28, 2013.
Tamara Baluja is an award-winning journalist with CBC Vancouver and the 2018 Michener-Deacon fellow for journalism education. She was the associate editor for J-Source from 2013-2014.
