City editor David Howell is leaving his position at the Edmonton Postmedia newspaper to take on an undetermined role within the company. The newspaper is hiring a new city editor, said managing editor Stephanie Coombs. 

City editor David Howell is leaving his position at the Edmonton Journal to take on an undetermined role within the newspaper.

The newspaper is hiring a new city editor, said managing editor Stephanie Coombs.

Howell spent three years as assignment editor and another two as city editor at the Journal. “He wanted a new challenge within the newsroom,” Coombs said. “We are still sorting out the details of the new position, although it will likely involve both editing and writing.”
