Hugo Rodrigues joining Cornwall Standard Freeholder as managing editor
Rodrigues, who was laid off from Brantford’s The Expositor in December as part of recent cuts at Sun Media, starts his new position at the Standard Freeholder on March 17.
Hugo Rodrigues is joining Sun Media’s Standard Freeholder in Cornwall, Ont., on March 17.
Rodrigues, who is also president of the Canadian Association of Journalists, was laid off from Brantford’s The Expositor in December as part of recent cuts at Sun Media. He covered city hall for the Expositor for two years and had previously worked for the Woolwich Observer in Elmira, Ont. Rodrigues was named the Gordon N. Fisher Canadian journalism fellow at Massey College, in Toronto, in 2010 and graduated from the undergraduate journalism program at Carleton University in Ottawa.
