Winnipeg Free Press summer digital interactive internship
The Free Press is looking for a web-savvy journalism intern to use data to tell stories on winnipegfreepress.com.
This intern will collaborate with reporters, editors and developers to help create data visualizations, interactives, infographics and multimedia experiences on our apps and websites, as well as gain experience in journalism production on all our platforms.
The successful candidate will be proficient with Excel, Access, and Google's data tools, including Maps and Fusion. An exceptional candidate would bring familiarity with Esri ArcMap or other GIS software and/or experience with front-end web development such as HTML, CSS, Javascript or server-side languages.
This is a paid 13-week internship, starting June 2. Applicants must be enrolled in a journalism program or have graduated from a program during the year of application. The successful candidate will be paid as a student reporter.
