Canadian Journalists for Free Expression (CJFE) is calling for donations in support of its fifth annual Review of Free Expression in Canada.

Every year on World Press Freedom Day (May 3), CJFE publishes a critical publication that provides balanced, comprehensive analysis of the most important events, legislation and court decisions affecting Canadians’ freedom of expression. The Review is the only publication of its kind in the country, and it takes 43 staff and volunteers more than 2,600 hours to produce a leading resource on free expression issues in Canada.

In February 2013, CJFE launched a crowdfunding campaign to support the production of the 2013-2014 Review of Free Expression in Canada. All funds raised will help the organization.

  • Distribute the Review of Free Expression in Canada FREE to journalism and communication programs at universities and colleges across the country;
  • Engage with policymakers to develop measures that will make information more accessible and protect whistleblowers;
  • Conduct further research on the critical issues addressed in the Review; andPay for the production of the Review, including research, writing, layout and printing.
