Waterstone Human Capital is leading the national search for an editor of a leading, legacy print and growing online brand on behalf of our client, one of Canada’s largest information services companies.
The ideal candidate is a journalist with proven managerial experience in a publishing environment as a content editor, preferably with a record of combined print and online publishing. He/she has outstanding leadership skills, with a clear understanding of how to manage, develop and lead people. An innovator in the dynamic landscape of editorial expression, whether it be print or digital format, the ideal candidate is also persuasive, with the ability to use strong communication skills to obtain alignment and has the ability to work with enthusiasm within a constantly evolving environment.
In addition, he/she will have:
· Experience in a senior leadership role with a significant “best-in-class” publishing and/or media organization, with a proven record of combined print and online publishing success
· Extensive knowledge of publishing, including trends, opportunities and innovations
· Proven experience developing and executing short and long-term objectives
· A university degree in journalism or equivalent relevant post-secondary education or experience
