According to a new poll released yesterday by the Friends of Canadian Broadcasting organization, three in four believe that Canadian media is too important to culture and national security to have foreign ownership.

The survey also showed that more than ever before, respondents believed that foreign ownership of media would result in a decrease in Canadian content.

The survey comes in advance of the federal budget, during which, funding cuts of 10 per cent are possible for CBC, a main platform for Canadian content.
