Next year is gonna be big. The CBC continues its five-year strategic plan "Everyone, Every way" next fall by bringing radio and internet services to London and Kitchener-Waterloo. It will also extend its news programming to seven days a week in Edmonton, Ottawa, St. John's, and the Maritimes.

"We're delighted to become a closer part of the London community through our ongoing plan to improve services to Canadians," said Kirstine Stewart, executive vice-president of CBC English Services in a news release.  "People across the country tell us that local service is what they want. So as a public broadcaster, it's our job to meet that expectation, evolving the ways in which we deliver our services as well as creating new ones. London will be a great example."

Currently, CBC estimates there are more than seven million Canadians live in large population centres that are either unserved or underserved by the public broadcaster. The strategic plan is designed to reach six million more Canadians with expanded service over the next four years.
