CBC Newfoundland and Labrador won big last weel at the Radio-Television News Directors Association of Canada awards for the Atlantic Region.

Peter Cowan won the Dan McArthur award for investigative journalism in radio for his reports on the finances of Peter Penashue's 2011 election campaign. The former Conservative MP has since accused Cowan of treating him unfairly and accused the CBC and Liberal Party of being "like family;" however, Cowan stands by his reporting.
