Deadlines are looming for anyone who wants to enrol in a graduate or undergraduate journalism program in Canada this year. Prospective students should be getting their portfolios and application packages ready, complete with reference letters from their professors.
Admission deadlines for graduate journalism programs in Canada are just around the corner.
Carleton University’s two-year program requires admission packages to be received by the School of Journalism and Communication no later than February 1, 2012.
Ryerson University’s graduate program has a suggested deadline of January 13, 2012 for admission packages.
The University of King's College graduate program has set its deadline to February 15, 2012.
Concordia University, the University of Western Ontario, and University of British Columbia all set January 15, 2012 as the deadline for their graduate journalism programs.
Undergraduate journalism programs in Ontario are available to students who apply through the Ontario Universities Application Centre (OUAC), and the recommended deadline for students to submit all information to the OUAC is February 7, 2012.

Concordia University’s undergraduate program has a deadline of March 1, 2012.
Early admission for entry into Mount Royal University’s undergraduate journalism program has a deadline of March 1st, 2012, but applications will be accepted until August 1, 2012. Apply through Apply Alberta.
The University of King's College Honours undergraduate journalism program's application deadline is March 1, 2012. It's one-year Bachelor of Journalism program (for students already possessing an undergraduate degree) has a deadline of February 15, 2012.
Other undergraduate programs throughout the country as listed have a deadline of well into August 2012, but students are urged to apply earlier through the province’s application procedures.
