Carol Wang, a 12-year veteran of anchoring and reporting who began her broadcasting career in China, will be anchoring the broadcast. Frank Qi, who has over 10 years of experience working with Vancouver-based Chinese media, will assume the role of news correspondent. Together, the two will bring daily national and international news stories to a Mandarin-speaking audience.
The new Mandarin-language Global News broadcast will launch Jan 23 and run at 7 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Monday through Friday on Shaw Multicultural Channel in Vancouver and Calgary.
