On the heels of Daniel Dale’s National Newspaper Award win, word’s out that the Toronto Star’s star Washington correspondent is moving on.
Storied investigative reporter and FOI specialist Dean Beeby retired from the CBC in April.
Sad day for the CBC as @DeanBeeby retires. Sadder day for Canadian journalism. He’s always been a hero of mine and it’s been a privilege to work with him in the bureau. I like to imagine he’s gesturing in this pic to say “why haven’t you filed an ATIP today?” pic.twitter.com/PmEghUBgIP

I’m thrilled to say I’m heading back to Toronto to rejoin the CBC as a lead tech reporter covering online disinformation in the 2019 election!

Some very exciting news: I am thrilled to be joining @NatObserver's amazing team as part of the Election Integrity Project. I will be leading coverage of disinformation and the rise of hate.
Stay tuned 🙂https://t.co/xW5941UuX4

About to get sentimental. After 4 years, today is my last day at @vicecanada. I really can’t describe how lucky I have been to work here on amazing projects with colleagues who have inspired me every day.
Our team is tiny but we’ve always punched way above our weight. /1

THREAD: Some personal news: After six years (!!!) with @ipoliticsca, I am excited to announce I'm moving on a new challenge with @Reuters here in Ottawa as their new Economics Reporter, starting May 21.

Alright folks, this is it — my last day at the @TorontoStar's @starradiobox. From gut-wrenching school lock-downs to eyebrow-raising real estate listings to crazy cocaine busts, it's been a wild ride covering breaking news with some of the country's best journalists.

Forgot to make a tweet when this actually happened, but after two years of working at @TorontoStar, Wednesday was my last day! I came to the @starradiobox with a single byline to my name, and since then it's been a crazy ride, learning to report on crime, transit, politics, etc. pic.twitter.com/vntI5Fgo3v

Today's my last day with @StarVancouver. Had a lot of fun and learned a lot here. Hopefully my final stories on police accountability and violence within corrections make it through editing 🙂 Will be starting at @BC_Pharmacy on May 6 as a communications specialist. pic.twitter.com/NLXLQkRXne

Some news-related personal news: I'm stoked to be reporting for the @EdmontonJournal as an intern this summer! It's an honour to get to help tell my home city's stories and I can't wait to get started.

A little delayed in posting this (she started yesterday) but I’m excited to welcome @s_ferguson25 to the @NiagarathisWeek team. She’ll be joining our crew of reporters covering south Niagara. Give her a follow! pic.twitter.com/Oty20FxcY0
