When Brad Demers’s position as a paginator at the St. Catharines Standard was eliminated, he decided he wanted to say goodbye in his own cheeky way.

“Sun Media initiated some restructuring back in July and my position was one of the ones eliminated,” Demers told J-Source. “I've seen a lot of people get laid off in the past couple of years, and sometimes it was sudden and there wasn't an opportunity to say goodbye. I had the chance this time around, and I wanted to say goodbye in a humorous manner.”

Demers said he has always had a keen interest in animation and prior to working as paginator, he worked as an ad designer for Sun Media. He is now actively looking for a new job.
