Community-engaged journalism begins in the classroom, but putting it into practice against the backdrop of traditional methods can be difficult.  

With journalism professors spread out across Canada, collaborating on impactful projects can prove difficult.

Nevertheless, universities and colleges across the country are finding ways to develop and implement community-based projects.  

In this conversation with journalism professors Teresa Goff and ​​Christine Crowther, we discussed our best practices for navigating obstacles when teaching engaged journalism.
