The Canadian Centre for Investigative Reporting has joined the battle to secure a hefty chunk of cash from the Aviva Community Fund.

The Canadian Centre for Investigative Reporting has joined the battle to secure a hefty chunk of cash from the Aviva Community Fund.

To enter the second round of the competition for its share of the $1-million available in funding, the CCIR must get plenty of votes and be chosen to move into the semi-finals.

Its idea comes in two parts: fund investigative series in Canada, and train the investigative journalists of tomorrow.
