The 66-year-old chairman of the Postmedia Network Inc. board, who often went by “Ron,” passed away suddenly Monday in Florida.

CBC television host George Stroumboulopoulos will be hosting a brand new show on CNN this summer. The weekly, one-hour series will air 10 episodes on Friday nights. But fear not, Strombo will be back on CBC in the fall.

Bob McKenzie, the publisher of the Victoria Times Colonist since 2004, announced on Tuesday that he was stepping down. His replacement has not yet been named.

On Monday, CBC opened a new radio station in Kitchener-Waterloo, the first one in Ontario in 40 years.  The new station will have a mix of hyper-local news, current affairs, and local cultural content. Tamara Baluja reports.   

This is the first time Shaw Media is launching a 24-hours news station, but unlike other networks, it will test the waters in Metro Vancouver, where BBM Canada statistics show it has a strong base. Tamara Baluja reports.
