    Double digit declines in advertising

    Newspaper advertising revenue dropped 11 per cent in January, compared to the year before, marking the worst performance since 2001.  At least one analyst was optimist after reading the numbers, Editor and Pubilsher reports. Peter Appert, of Goldman Sachs, had expected things to be worse.
